Where do I start?

It’s important that you start by having an idea of what you want.  If it is an item we already carry you must buy a sample door and order the design service. If this is a custom color we will need you to send us that door sample.  Please see steps 1 and 2 on the main category page.

Why do I need the design service?

Since you’ll need custom items it is important that we see your Floorplan and know where everything is going and how it is going to fit. This will also help us in figuring how many accessories you will need and insure you have enough to finish your job.  This is also the process to determine the exact pricing for custom items. However, if you choose not to order design service and directly order, it is entirely up to you.

I know exactly what I need and they are all online; can I order directly online?

Yes. If you use the default configuration and specifications of the custom RTA cabinet online and you can find all the items that you need for your project, you can bypass the design service and go straight at ordering online. We still recommend you getting a sample door first; if you choose not to, please understand you can’t return the custom order once placed. By ordering directly online, you can also take advantage of the online sales (eg. Volume discount) that may be going on at the time; but you do need to make the full payment of the order to do so. Please note that any sales or discounts available on the website are not valid for custom orders unless otherwise stated.

Does a Custom RTA Kitchen cost more?

No. We price our custom RTA kitchen cabinets the same as the off-the-shelf RTA cabinets. The only difference is that you will need to plan ahead and wait 8 weeks before you getting your cabinets.

Overall how long does it take to get my custom cabinets?

If you start planning early, you will be able to take advantage of our solid quality low price custom RTA cabinets. In a typical case, it takes one week to get the sample door and decide that is the color and style you want; it takes another week or 10 days to nail down the details for design and custom items. Once you put down the 50% down payment, it will take roughly 8 weeks to manufacture your cabinets and ship them through sea freight containers to our CA warehouse. It will take another 3-7 business days to ship your order from our CA warehouse to your address.

What colors do you offer?

We offer all the colors and styles available on our website however, should you run into a color or style you like somewhere else you can send us the full door sample and we can do a color or style match.

How does your color and style matching work?

If you want to have a custom style or color you must send in the full door you want matched. You will not receive this door back as we will basically destroy this door to make sure it is built properly. The custom sample door will cost $150 and take approximately 2-3 weeks.  If you would like the same door in a different color after receiving it you may do so for $75 per color you’d like. As a second option you may pay $250 and receive your sample door in 3 different colors or shades.

Can I order a framed RTA cabinet line as a frameless RTA Cabinet line or vice versa?

Yes! We actually recommend switching to frameless. Frameless cabinets allow for a full overlay and because they are built with thicker side walls they are sturdier.

Can I mix the online RTA cabinets (off the shelf) with the Custom RTA cabinets?

You can mix the online off-the-shelf RTA cabinets with custom RTA cabinets for the following lines:

-          American Cherry Chocolate Shaker

-          Antique Almond

-          Merlot Birch

-          Golden Honey

-          Cherry Walnut

-          Bamboo Scotch Shaker

-          Cerise Shaker

For all other cabinet lines, we have different default specifications for Custom RTA even though the cabinet door style is exactly the same (eg. we use an upgraded hinges or we show less frame by enlarge the cabinet door size in relation to overall cabinet size).

Can I have the cabinets made out of different wood?

Yes, we have several different wood types available but depending on the wood you select there may be an up charge. 

Can I order unfinished cabinets?

Yes you can order unfinished Cabinets. Unfinished cabinets will be 15% less than comparable finished cabinets. The pricing is based off the wood, hardware and style you choose.

How long will it take for my order to be manufactured?

Manufacturing of the order will only take about 6 weeks.  However the items are manufactured in China and will be grouped with other custom orders before being put into a sea freight container. In all it takes about 9 weeks for your order to be ready to ship from our CA warehouse.

Can I change my design after I’ve already ordered?

Once you’ve ordered you can make slight changes but you will have to speak directly with someone and we will need the change request in writing. Any changes to your original order will affect the manufacturing process and potentially add time to the entire process.

What if I change my mind after I’ve already ordered?

We encourage you to take as much time as possible before placing Custom order. Once the order is placed and we start manufacturing the items, the order is non-cancelable and non-refundable.

Do I have to pay for the entire order before the production begins?

With these custom orders we only ask for 50% of the amount due while the order is being manufactured. The remaining balance will be due before the order ships from our warehouse.

How do I know my custom items will be what I want?

Each custom item that you order will come with a spec sheet and your signature will be required to ok each item before they are manufactured. The spec sheet will serve as a build sheet for our manufacture so your item will be what you have approved. In rare cases changes may have to be made by the manufacture but you will be notified in writing. Click here to see what a sample spec sheet look like.

Do you have a minimum order?

Yes, there is a minimum order of $4000 due to the cost in manufacturing a custom kitchen. Orders between $0 and $3000 will be subject to a $1000 surcharge. Orders between $3000.01 and  3999.99 will be subject to a $500 surcharge.
